Lahore: Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk sworn in as acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Saturday here.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry administered the oath to Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk in a ceremony held at the Supreme Court Lahore Registry.
CEC slot had fallen vacant after resignation of Justice Tasadduq Jilani because he is going to take charge as Chief Justice of Pakistan on December 12.
On Friday, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani had resigned from his position. The ECP, following the resignation of acting CEC Justice Jillani, had sent a summary to the chief justice to appoint new acting CEC.
