ISLAMABAD: Three member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will resume the hearing of eight important cases tomorrow (Monday).
Bench comprises Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Ameer Hani Muslim.
The court has issued notices to Attorney General Muneer A Malik, Minister and Secretary Ministry of Defence, Secretary Water and Power Chairman Wapda, Secretary Petroleum and other officials to hear the cases.
These cases are pertaining to increase of petroleum, electricity and flour prices, contempt court case against Secretary Defence Asif yaseen, 35 missing persons including Yaseen case, case regarding Rental Power project and case regarding action against former premiers Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf for issuing 450 illegal CNG station licenses.
Meanwhile, six benches of the apex court have been constituted for hearing of the cases during nest week starting from Monday.
1st bench of the apex court comprises Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Ameer Hani Muslim. The Second bench of court comprises of Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Justice Aijaz Ahmed Chaudhry and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed.
Third bench headed by Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk comprises Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehaman. Justice Hilji Arif Hussain, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and Justice Aijaz Afzal Khan are the member of fourth bench of the court.
Fifth division bench comprises Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Aijaz Afzal Khan while Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmani and Justice Muhammad Athar Saeed are the member of sixth bench of the apex court. These all benches would hear the case in Islamabad.
