Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari said that Pakistan attached great importance to its friendly relations with Sweden and expressed the desire to broad-based substantive and long term relationship.
He expressed these views to Ambassador of Kingdom of Sweden Lars Hjalmar Wide during a meeting at Parliament House.
The Chairman Senate underscored the need for close cooperation between the two countries at parliamentary level.
He said that many Swedish companies including Ericson, Tetra and SAAB were working successfully in Pakistan and there is huge scope for investment in the field of energy and enhancing bilateral trade.
Pakistan produced one of the best quality rice and mango, the chairman informed the visiting envoy.
The ambassador of Sweden informed that a Swedish delegation will visit Pakistan next year to explore investment opportunities.
He also emphasized for cooperation in the field of culture and observed that Pakistani handicrafts were highly impressive.
