Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has announced one million dollars as contribution to relief efforts for the calamity hit areas of Philippines to express solidarity with the people that country.
The Foreign Office Spokesman in a statement today said people and the Government of Pakistan are deeply grieved by the tragic loss of life and wide spread damage to the property caused by super typhoon Haiyan which hit central Philippines on 8th of this month.
Earlier‚ the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan in their messages of sympathy assured the President of the Philippines‚ Benigno Aquino‚ that the Pakistani nation stood by the people and the Government of the Philippines in this hour of need.
