KARACHI: Facing a dearth of operation aircraft, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) decides to purchase 10 narrow body aircraft to maintain its traffic.
“PIA plans to induct narrow-body aircraft to provide better services to the travelers and maintain its current traffic,” Radio Pakistan has reported quoting officials as saying.
To acquire the aircraft, the national flag carrier has floated two separate tenders to invite manufacturers for 10 aircraft on dry lease.
“Currently PIA fleet consists of thirty four aircraft and out of them twenty five are operational,” the post has further revealed.
PIA officials say that the national airlines require at least 39 planes to cater needs of the passengers.
