ISLAMABAD: Afghan Taliban spokesperson Nasiruddin Haqqani, also known as Zabihullah Mujahid, has reportedly killed on Monday in a miscreants’ attack in Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan.
Unknown gunmen on motorcycle fired at least 26 rounds on the vehicle on which Naseeruddin Haqqani was on board at Bhara Kahu area of the city, Dunya News reported.
Nasiruddin Haqqani was not only the spokesperson to Afghan Taliban but also son of Haqqani Network’s chief Jalaluddin Haqqani who was murdered by unknown gunmen on late night of Sunday or Monday’s morning, according to two different reports.
However, the deceased person was transferred to Waziristan where his funeral prayers will be offered on Monday.
The channel quoted the Taliban sources confirming the death of their Afghan spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, in Pakistan.
Some eyewitnesses told the local media that the person left his car for purchasing bread from a nearby shop but went killed by the miscreants.
Reports claimed that the dead body was taken to an unknown place by some men who came after the incident on the location.
On the other hand, local hospitals rejected the admission of any person named as Nasiruddin Haqqani or Zabihullah Mujahid.
