LAHORE: The Pakistan’s provincial government of Punjab on Sunday has refused to make electoral lists for local bodies’ election.
Punjab government has excused for making electoral lists for upcoming local bodies’ poll in coming month as per order given by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had handed over the responsibility of electoral lists’ preparation work to the provincial governments of Pakistan on October 27.
Moreover, ECP also received ‘flawed’ notification of local bodies’ act from provincial government of Punjab today without mentioning the kind of election as ‘party-based’ as per orders of the Lahore High Court (LHC).
However, ECP decided to complete the electoral lists’ procedures under its management despite insisting on its stance.
