PESHAWAR: The Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) provincial cabinet on Monday handed over authority to the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on NATO supply blockage.
CM Pervez Khattak chaired the eminent meeting with cabinet members in Civil Secretariat of Peshawar for considering closure of NATO supply to military troops in Afghanistan.
While talking with media, Pervez Khattak said that the participants of the meeting considered blockage of the NATO supply line.
Kattak said that anti-drone resolution will be presented in national assembly with the country’s opposition parties.
He clarified that they will announce a deadline to the Pakistan’s federal government for stoppage of US drone strikes; otherwise the NATO supply will be blocked via public power.
KPK government held cabinet meeting today gain confidence of all political parties included in the provincial administration regarding NATO supply closure, law and order situation and anti-drone resolution.
One of the coalition partners of KPK government, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), affiliated ministers found absent during the meeting.
It should be mentioned that KPK government looked firm over imposition of strict action by blocking NATO supply after last US drone strike in its tribal area.
Earlier, The Chief Minister of KPK, Pervez Khattak, had announced blocking NATO supply to the military troops in Afghanistan on Sunday.
CM Pervez Khattak said that the supply line will not be resumed until the US government stops drone strike in the tribal areas of Pakistan.
The development came forward following the recent drone attack carried out in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) of KPK in which the banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Hakimullah Mehsud was killed.
It should be mentioned that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) administered KPK government earlier issued warning to US authorities for closure of NATO supply in case of any drone attack carried out in its tribal areas during the dialogue process with Taliban.
