LAHORE: Former Pakistan Captains Wasim Akram and Amir Sohail has heavily criticised Shahid Afridi on playing a wrong short leading to the loss of match that was already in the pocket of Green Shirts.
The ex. Pakistani opener Amir Sohail blamed Shahid Afridi for playing an unnecessary shot in the first ODI that led to the defeat against Proteas. He said that Afridi had a chance to finish off the game without playing such a shot.
He said that Pakistani team shameless performance is the reason of defeat. He said that Afridi has tremendous experience in International Cricket arena, yet he is unable to understand why he played such a shot.
He must be rested, what was the reason behind playing such a shot while only 8 runs were required in 40 balls. On the other hand, ex. Captain of Pakistan, Wasim Akram said that Afridi must bat on no. 11 spot.
Wasim Akram said that he is still surprised that Afridi has learned nothing from his experience. He could have easily won the match highhandedly for Pakistan.
