ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notice of contempt to ex. Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman (PCB) Najam Sethi. As reported by Express News, he defied from the court’s orders while he was interim official of PCB.
An application for the contempt of court was filed by the petitioner Ahmed Nawaz for defying the orders of the court. In his application, he stated that Sethi was working as interim Chairman of PCB, even though he was barred to work by IHC.
Advocate Abdul Razzaq Rajab was the counsel for Nawaz, who stated that Sethi continued to perform his duties resulted in the contempt of court. He said, “Sethi used contemptuous language against an IHC judge during a talk show of a TV channel and also on social website Twitter, saying that he is still the chairman of the board”.
Earlier, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui issued orders for Sethi and urged that he must be barred from performing his services as top official of PCB.
Nevertheless, the PCB Chief tweeted that he has been granted stay order against suspension until 4th November.
