ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has reviewed the fuel adjustment of last fiscal year and approved rupees 35 billion relief for electricity consumers as it would be beneficial from next month, The News Tribe reported on Thursday.
The decision was considered during a hearing in Islamabad by chairman NEPRA, Khawaja Muhammad Naeem over fuel adjustment in electricity prices of the last finical year.
According to the reports, consumers will receive an adjustment of rupees 0.62 per unit of electricity bills charged in July 2012.
Similarly, NEPRA decided to adjust rupees 0.38, 0.42, 0.65 and 0.28 per unit, which were charged in the months of August, October, November and December of 2012, respectively.
Consumers will get rupees 0.63 per unit adjustment in electricity prices of January 2013 and correspondingly 0.20, 0.83, 0.54 and 0.71 per unit in February, March, April and May of the same year.
Talking to media persons here, chairman NEPRA said consumers will be getting the fuel adjustments of electricity prices in the same months from onward in which it’s charged.
