KARACHI: Significant step has been taken by the law enforcement agency during ongoing targeted operation in the metropolis, as independent anti-terrorism cell established by Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Karachi Police.
DIG Amir Sheikh of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) appointed as the head of the newly formed anti-terrorism cell on Thursday (today).
Higher authorities approved the formation of the separate and independent cell in order to deal with expected major terrorism bid during the Islamic month of Moharam.
The police officials who were downgraded following the court’s orders including Inspectors Mazhar Mashwani, Raja Umar Khattab, Fayyaz Khan and Chaudhry Safdar are amongst the team members working under supervision of DIG Amir Sheikh.
