RAWALPINDI: Three Pakistan Air Force (PAF) officials faced court marshal charged with involvement in Minhas Airbase Kamra attack occurred late night on August 16.
PAF authorities has announced the decision for provision of court marshal orders to three officials found responsible in Minhas Airbase Kamra attack in which terrorists targeted four modern radar Swedish aircraft of millions worth.
Military court has been established for proceeding of the case over the three accused while the hearings will be started from the first week of November in Kamra base, local media reported.
The officials on charge sheets include Senior Aircraft man Shaveiz Khan (509432), Corporal Technician Mirza Waseem Iqbal (501082) and Senior Technician Zafar Abbas (861669).
It should be mentioned that seven heavily armed militants stormed the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) Minhas airbase at Kamra during the early hours on August 16, sparking an intense gun battle lasting almost five hours, Dawn News reported.
The militants were said to be armed with automatic weapons, grenades and suicide vests. Intense exchange of fire between militants and security forces ensued after the attackers infiltrated the base located in Attock, Punjab.
PAF officials confirmed that all seven attackers had been killed. One Pakistani soldier also lost his life in the attack, confirmed officials.
The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani military airbase early Thursday, which left 10 people dead, including a soldier, and damaged at least one Air Force aircraft.
