RIYADH: Having undergone two year imprisonment, Saudi Arabia finally releases Saudi writer Hamza Kashgari. He was arrested in 2011, on behalf of alleged blasphemy against Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
The conservatives in Saudi Arabia demanded for his imprisonment due to the possible blasphemy issue in 2011. The 23 year old Hamza Kashgari has been rereleased from the jail today confirmed by his lawyer, friends and family members.
In his very first tweet outside the fortified prison walls, he said, “Mornings of hope…souls that live and never die, Thanks to God”. His lawyer also tweeted the confirmation of his release.
Kashgari is a Saudi newspaper columnist and a writer who tweeted controversial statements regarding reflecting meditatively on the human side of the Prophet (PBUH).
Kashgari in 2011 also claimed that he had an imaginary meeting with Holy Prophet of Islam Muhammad (P.B.U.H). The religious conservatives claimed his tweet blasphemous and demanded for his deaths.
