KARACHI: Raising objections over report of votes’ authenticity, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has submitted its objections over voting audit in NA-256 of Karachi.
Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) had appealed the election tribunal to further audit votes in 66 polling stations of the constituency.
Earlier, an audit from National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) has revealed thousands of unauthentic votes.
MQM’s legislators from the national assembly, Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, the winner on the seat, views that it is not responsibility of his party to ensure authenticity of the votes during polling.
“Election Commission of Pakistan is the concerned authority to ensure authenticity of votes during polls.”
*Earlier piece was misreported by a TNT staff. Its PTI not MQM which has requested voting audit in NA-256.
