KARACHI: The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan has rejected the plea submitted by the convict Shahrukh Jatoi on Thursday in Shahzeb Khan murder case.
Shahrukh Jatoi’s lawyer Shafqat Shah Masoomi had challenged the First Investigation Report (FIR) in the SC’s Karachi registry requesting to annul the Shahzeb Khan murder case.
According to the lawyer, the murder case should be annulled as the filed case is baseless and no evidences found against Shahrukh Jatoi.
However, the SC’s divisional bench comprised of Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali rejected the plea.
It should be mentioned that the Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) declared death penalty for the murderer of Shahzeb Khan, Shahrukh Jatoi and his friend Sajjad Talpur in the case.
Earlier, Shahrukh Jatoi had requested to transfer the case in session court while the SC also rejected the plea as well.
Shahzeb Khan was murdered on December 24 of last year by the convicts after an altercation with Siraj Talpur’s servant.
Later, Siraj Talpur his brother Sajjad Talpur, their servant Ghulam Mustafa Lashari and Shahrukh Jatoi were charged and convicted of the murder of Shahzeb Khan.
Afterwards, Shahzeb Khan’s parents decided to pardon those convicted of their son’s murder in the ‘name of Allah’ on September 9 of this year.
