WASHINGTON: As the world media eyed on the crucial meeting of both the leaders, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif raised three crucial questions or issues with President Barack Obama.
The meeting was held last night (as per Pakistan time) during the two days visit of Sharif to United States during which he met with senior officials of the country.
Nawaz Sharif, looking dashing with neatly designed suite, blue tie and white shirt, raised three major issues during his meeting with the US president.
The Pakistan leader had been holding chits, carrying list of issues to be raised, in his sitting just a couple of feet to President Obama who was also wearing blue tie and white shirt.
Nawaz Sharif raised issue of Dr. Aafia Siddiqi, a scientist and educationist who is in US captive on allegations of attacking US soldiers. In response, Obama raised the release issue of Dr Shakil Afridi, who is considered as a traitor in Pakistan and a hero in power corridors of US power houses.
The second issue, which was raised, was Kashmir, a burning issue between two nuclear states for more than 66 years. However, Obama seemed uninterested in the issue.
The third crucial issue was drone attacks, which has been creating panic in Pakistan for last many years. Though Obama didn’t give any candid answer to the issue, however he said the some ‘constructive ways’ would be sorted out to respect Pakistan sovereignty.
