ISLAMABAD: As the country enters a new avenue of defence export, Pakistan is all set to sell five to seven JF-17 Thunder Fighter Planes till next year.
“Pakistan has so far manufactured 45 fighter planes,” Federal Defence Minister Rana Tanveer said while giving briefing of the defence projects.
The PAC JF-17 Thunder, or CAC FC-1 Xiaolong, is a light-weight, single-engine, multi-role combat aircraft developed jointly by the Pakistan Air Force, the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex and the Chengdu Aircraft Industries Corporation of China.
The minister further said that helicopter manufacturing was underway in Pak Aeronautical Complex, the premeir air weapons outlet of the country.
“Talks are in way on helicopter manufacturing with Turkey and other countires,” he added.
