PESHAWAR: The state authorities have revealed that about 40,000 to 50,000 Afghan SIMs have been in use in the country.
“There is no agreement regarding Afghan SIMs usage in Pakistan,” National Accountability Bureau officials told Peshawar High Court (PHC).
The PHC is hearing the case regarding illegal usage of foreign SIMs in the area.
Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan observed that these SIMs were being used for kidnapping and bomb explosions.
The law enforcement agencies of the country report that spread of illegal SIMs is a big cause of lawlessness particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which is suffering from explosions and terror related incidents.
