LAHORE: Many expensive fast food chains in Pakistan are not giving taxes while they keep on charging 16% from their customers. Gloria Jean, KFC and Hardees are famous for their food but they are also known for tax defaulting.
Punjab Revenue Authority has started to investigate the case of fast food companies involved in tax defaulting. Although they charge 16% from their customers yet they refrain on paying taxes to fulfil the legal process.
These fast food centres are situated in posh area of Gulberg in Lahore. According to the authority sources these houses do not pay proper taxes while they get full 16% from their customers. This is a criminal activity that these houses are involved on regular basis. The taxation departments are unaware of the ‘highway robbery’ by Gloria Jean, KFC and Hardees.
