ISLAMABAD: Working on an innovative plan to roll in billions of dollars from booming market of Gulf, Pakistan plans to introduce eight speedy ships for carrying export goods of the country.
“Pakistan is buying eight high speed ships to improve its exports to the outer world,” sources in the Ministry of Ports and Shipping told.
“The ministry has summoned tenders from ship makers of China, Italy and other countries,” they further said.
“For this purpose, the Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael has contacted ship manufacturers.”
After the introduction of these ships, the export goods of the country would reach Gulf countries only in 11 hours, the sources added.
The ships will have the latest equipment including cold storage, containers and others for ‘safe’ delivery of food and other items.
