KARACHI: Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) has challenged the victory of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on the national assembly constituency of NA-252.
The petition was filed by the PTI contestant Haider Ali who had competed against MQM candidate from the constituency in last elections.
Rasheed Godial from MQM, which has won the most number of seats from Karachi, had won the seat; however, the opponent blamed that unprecedented rigging was recorded in the constituency.
Haider has appealed the election tribunal to annul the results on the seat. PTI has emerged surprisingly as the second leading party in the general election from the port city as far as number of votes are concerned.
