KARACHI: The President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain on Sunday said the Indian political party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has used the issue of cross border terrorism on Line of Control for winning upcoming general elections in India, The News Tribe has learnt.
He said that the president’s basic responsibility is to maintain harmony between the federation and the provinces, adding the president has no political role.
Talking to media at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam in Karachi, Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan had promised the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to raise the tariffs on power.
Discussing the situation of Karachi, President claimed that everything will be done to curb the problems in the city. He further added that all parties have to work together to solve the problems of Karachi.
Mamnoon Hussain said, “Karachi is not a London colony, Pakistan is an independent state, everyone has to put aside the negative mindset and join hands to make Karachi the city of lights again.”
He claimed that Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif will discuss with the United States government to stop drone attacks in Pakistan areas and more economic cooperation.
Earlier, the president along with governor Sindh, Ishrat Ebad and Chief Minister of Sindh, Qaim Ali Shah recited Surah-e-Fateha and laid a floral wreath on the grave of Quaid-e-Azam.
