KARACHI: Rabita Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has demanded to make Mirpur Khas and Nawabshah municipal corporations like Larkana, and raised objection over announcement of Qasimabad as seprate Municipal Corporation.
MQM’s Rabita Committee said two parallel local body systems have been introduced in Sindh, dividing the province on linguistic grounds which would not tolerate, according to the statement issued here on Sunday.
It said that a notification issued by the Sindh government on local body elections is contrary to the bill passed by the assembly.
The party also raised objections about announcing Qasimabad a separate municipal committee. It said that historically and geographically Qasimabad was a UC of Hyderabad.
