KARACHI: Menace of load shedding likely to destroy the Eid-ul-Adha activities of the Karachiites as the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) officials undecided on taking anti-load shedding steps till yet.
KESC has not taken firm decision over provision of continuous electricity on upcoming Eid festival going to be celebrating from tomorrow till October 18, sources said.
Important to note that the Pakistan’s federal government announced for four-day Eid holidays yesterday instead of three-day according to past traditions.
Sources said that KESC facing troublous moments these days due to decrement in gas supply from the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Limited and at least 220 million cubic feet gas is needed to eradicate load shedding during Eid holidays while current provision of gas is 140 million cubic feet.
However, KESC officials are trying to settle the issue by holding meetings with SSGC management in order to facilitate the citizen of the metropolis of Pakistan.
It should be mentioned that Pakistani government had maintained provision of electricity during last Eid-ul-Fitr holiday in most parts of the country after taking charge on federal and provincial position but no movement has seen for upcoming event till yet.
Severity of the electricity shortage could be observed as the locals of Hyderabad facing unannounced load shedding after every 2 hours, recent local media reports said.
