ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday has restored the previous Pakistan’s governmental notification for imposition of high electricity prices.
NEPRA chairman Khawaja Naim, during a high-level meeting of standing committee for water and power, said that the federal asked for making electricity pricing in accordance to law.
Khawaja Naim told the committee that NEPRA has completed all working on request of federal government and placed the electricity rates same as decided by the government.
The meeting was headed by the chairperson standing committee for water and power Senator Zahid Khan on Friday (today) in Islamabad.
The Chairman NEPRA detailed the electricity prices before the participants of the meeting, he said that Rs2 will be charged on consuming 1-50 units, Rs5.79 from 51-100 units, Rs8.11 from 101-200 units, Rs14 from 201-300 units, Rs16 from 301-700 units and Rs18 per unit charged on using more than 700 units.
Final summary has been sent to the Pakistan’s federal government for final approval as NEPRA has finalised the increment in electricity rates, the chairman said.
