Washington: Verizon is offering its customers to design Motorola’s flagship smartphone of Motorola Moto X smartphone services.
According to reports the service will begin from November 11.The Moto X is the first co-product of Motorola and Google and was promoted as the next big thing, mostly in part because customers can customize the look of their smartphone by using Motorola’s Moto Maker website.
This is where the fun begins – you get to customize the Moto X to your liking. Motorola allows you to choose the back, front, and accent colors of the Moto X you’re designing.
You then move on to choosing between 16B and 32GB of internal storage for all your apps, music, photos, videos, and more.
The service allows you to add a custom greeting or name that will appear each time you turn on the device, pick the wallpaper you’d like the Moto X to be set to when you power it on for the first time, and it even allows you to connect the handset to your Google account, so when you power it on the first time, your name and user name will appear and you only need to enter your password to get started (a nice, simple, and time saving touch).
Unfortunately, the only way you can get this kind of Moto X experience currently is if you are an AT&T customer. Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile have only offered a standard black or white Moto X for purchase so far. The experience of the Moto Maker service is simple and intuitive: you get to see what your Moto X will look like with the options you’ve chosen as you move through each step. According the to the always-reliable @evleaks, Verizon will be next in line to get the Moto Maker service and it will be available on Nov. 11.
The Verizon Moto X features a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED HD display and is powered by a custom dual-core 1.7Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Motorola’s X8 Computing System and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU). The smartphone ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and is expected to receive an update to Android 4.3 in the near future. The handset includes 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM.
It is packing a 10-megapixel rear camera with the ability to record 1080p video, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. When it comes to connectivity, the Moto X includes a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Motorola has included a 2,200 mAh battery that offers excellent battery life.
Verizon customers will finally get the chance to design and customize their Moto X to their liking in November if they do not to choose the standard white or black model.
