Delhi: A new Samsung device spotted in India, it might be Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Mini or Mini Version of Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Mini.
Samsung have introduced both devices in the calendar year 2013, but haven’t shown any interest in launching the Mini variant of the devices.
Samsung already launched the mini version of its flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S4
Compact versions of smartphones have become very common, as many handset manufacturers have already launched a smaller version of their flagship devices.
Samsung was one of the first smartphone makers to launch a compact version of its flagship device. The Korean company launched the Galaxy S3 Mini in 2012 as the compact version of the Galaxy S3. In 2013, Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 and soon the Galaxy S4 Mini made its debut as well. HTC has also launched the HTC One Mini, which is the smaller version of the flagship HTC One.
Smartphones are not the only devices getting a mini version. In 2012, Apple launched the 7.9-inch iPad mini as the smaller version of the full-sized iPad, which measure 9.7-inch. A recent report suggests that a Samsung mini device has been spotted in India, but exact details of the device still remain a mystery.
“Zauba is a web site that tracks imports and exports to and from India. According to the site, a shipment landed in India from Delhi Air Cargo containing a pair of mobile devices, each with the model number SM-P601. According to the documentation that came with the import into the country, this is a ‘mini’ version of another model. The value of each device is 33,508 Rupees ($542.30 USD) so it is not going to be a cheap machine,” reports Phone Arena.
The Phone Arena report suggests that the Galaxy Mini spotted has a 5.25-inch screen. The Galaxy Note tablet series already have a 10.1-inch and an 8-inch tablet. It may not make sense for the company to launch a tablet with a display size of 5.25-inch when the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone sports a 6-inch display.
However, many previous reports indicated that Samsung may launch several versions of the Galaxy Note 3 phablet. Could it be that the mystery device spotted in India is the compact version of the Galaxy Note 3?
