ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s federal government has given timeframe for commencing privatisation of 31 entities during coming 18 months in order to transform it into profitable organisations.
The process of privatisation of state owned organisations has been finalised by Pakistani government while the timeframe will be based on 1.5 years, sources said.
Governmental sources said that Privatisation Commission got orders for initiating work for selling by public offering regarding 26 per cent share to private sector.
According to previous reports, the federal government is willing to privatise 65 state owned organisations including Pakistan Shipping Corporation (PSC), Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and Pakistan Steel.
