ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani will be appointed as the country’s next ambassador to the US, sources revealed on Wednesday, The News Tribe reported.
“Abdul Basit would be heralded as a new Pakistan’s foreign secretary”, sources said. Abdul Basit is giving services as ambassador to the Germany.
Sources stated that Ibn-e-Abbas and Asif Durani would be nominated as ambassador to India and Arab Emirates, respectively.
It was reported that Muhammad Sadiq will be given the important responsibilities, who already giving his services in Kabul.
The expected ambassador to the US, Jilani was appointed as foreign secretary in March 2012.
Jilani is a career diplomat and prior to his appointment as foreign secretary, he served as Ambassador of Pakistan to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union.
He also interacted with the NATO HQ based in Brussels on regular basis.
