KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jails, Nusrat Mangan, on Monday has unveiled details of significant development made for increasing security measures of the Central Jail of Karachi, the metropolis of Pakistan.
Giving details of measures which have been taken for the security of Central Jail of Karachi, Nusrat Mangan said there will be increased of 2 dozen security pickets or check posts and 100 more police personnel deployed in the environs of the Jail.
He said 50 more CCTV cameras will be installed inside and outside of Central Jail for a foolproof security.
“We have submitted an application by government to provide us 50 KK (SMG), 15 G3 rifles, 4 LMGs, modern metal detectors, 200 bulletproof jackets, helmets and also night vision cameras for the security of Central jail”, IGP Jail added.
He said these measures have been established to secure the Central Jail as more than 150 prisoners from many banned outfits of Pakistan already present in the Jail.
Nusrat Mangan said the Central Jail of Karachi is on high security risk and there are many threats from different banned outfit for attacks.
