KARACHI: The hot war of rhetoric goes beyond the decent words as State Minister for Power Abid Sher Ali says Karachi’s power distribution company is itself involved in power theft.
“All the Kunda system in the port city is prevailing due to KESC,” vocal and young minister said while brandishing various papers claiming them to be evidences of power theft.
“KESC should run their thermal power units instead of stealing billions of electricity,” he further said.
“Asif Ali Zardari had written off the debt of Rs. 32 billion. Is this some sort of private property or something,” he said angrily.
“Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Karachi thieves get their weapons out over action against power theft.”
KESC spokesman termed the allegation as baseless saying that state minister should provide evidences to prove power theft instead of making allegations.
“State institutions are owed to pay Rs. 87 billions to KESC and he (Abid) should consider it first.”
Senior KPK minister Sirajul Haq says that Abid Sher Ali has insulted Pakhtun as whole and added that Federal Administered Tribal Area (FATA) is already in federal government’s control.
“KPK government should not be blamed for any irregularity in FATA,” he further said.
