ISLAMABAD: Majority of Pakistani youth below the age range of 30 years, said that they would not like to go abroad for any reason.
According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 40% Pakistani youth say they would like to go abroad.
‘Dedication and committment with Pakistan is not only a good sign but it shows the youth’s heart connection with the homeland, said Nisar Mosa, Youth Leadership Trainer while talking to TheNewsTribe.
“Despite the law and order and worsen security situations in the country, a large number of youth want to live in Pakistan are hopeful and they want to do something for the country, for the nation”.
A nationally representative sample of men and women, under the age of 30, from across the four provinces was asked “Would you like to go abroad?” Responding to this, 40% said that they would like to go abroad whereas 59% said that they would not. 1% did not respond.
Interestingly, when these 40% youth willing to go abroad were asked about their favorite destination in terms of countries, Saudi Arabia was mentioned by around one-fourth.
The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1107 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during July 21, 2013 – July 27, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
