ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s Information Minister Pervez Rasheed said that the federal government praised the significant role of prominent Islamic clerics of the country for the initiation of ceasefire process with the banned outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Pervaiz Rasheed said that Pakistani government has already offered for commencement of a peace dialogue to Taliban.
The information minister added that Taliban are students of Ulema hence they all should follow order of their teachers.
Earlier, Islamic clerics organised a crucial meeting in Islamabad on September 30 chaired by Maulana Salimullah Khan and appealed for a ceasefire between the government and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for sake of the Allah Almighty and his messenger Muhammad (PBUH).
Answering to the appeal, TTP welcomed the appeal of Islamic clerics for implementing ceasefire on October 1 (yesterday).
