GAYARI: Pakistan Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani shows resolution to recover all bodies of soldiers who became victims of landsliding in Gayari sector.
The Army Chief was addressing at a ceremony held to mark the sacrifice of national soldiers for the country.
“One hundred and thirty-three bodies of the martyrs have so far been recovered,” the chief told the audience besides lauding untiring efforts‚ dedication and devotion of the troops who succeeded in accomplishing this difficult task.
“The entire nation stands by the armed forces of Pakistan in performing their sacred obligation of defence of the country,” the state media has quoted him as saying.
The Gayari incident took place last year in September leaving hundreds of soldiers dead in an avalanche.
The ceremony was also attended by the heirs of martyrs and officers and soldiers of Pakistan Army.
