PESHAWAR: Banned militant outfit in Pakistan, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), on Tuesday has welcomed the appeal of Islamic clerics for implementing ceasefire.
Speaking from an undisclosed location, TTP spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid said that TTP respects the ceasefire appeal came from the Islamic clerics of specific religious sect, Deoband Ulema of Pakistan.
The spokesperson added that the Pakistani government should initiate ceasefire; afterwards TTP will continue the process.
Commenting over the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s suggestion, Shahidullah Shahid said that there is no need to open an office.
Earlier, Islamic clerics organised a crucial meeting in Islamabad on September 30 (yesterday) chaired by Maulana Salimullah Khan.
The participants comprising of prominent Ulema urged for a ceasefire between the government and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for sake of the Allah Almighty and his messenger Muhammad (PBUH).
According to reports, the participants of the meeting include Mufti Rafi Usmani, Maulana Mufti Taqi Usmani, Dr Abdul Razaq Sikandar, Maulana Fazl Muhammad, Qari Hanif Jalindhari, Syed Adnan Kakakhel, Maulana Muhammad Hasan, Maulana Mukhtaruddin and Maulana Abdul Baba Shah Mansoor.
Moreover, the meeting expressed satisfaction over Pakistani government’s decision for ending war between military forces and Taliban and they all agreed over the fact that bloodshed is not the solution for any issue.
