ISLAMABAD: Emphasizing on reality of Margalla HIlls Tunnel and a new city in suburb of the capital, Pakistan Muslim League-Q General Secretary Mushahid Hussain Syed says that Nawaz Sharif has even discussed the matter in United States.
He was giving his account in Margalla Hills Tunnel suo-moto case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan this morning.
Reports have emerged that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz led federal government is planning a new city in the suburb of Islamabad for which a tunnel has been suggested in the iconic Margalla Hills. If created, the city will be situated within the jurisdiction of Khyber Pakhtunkwa province.
The reports have stirred the political and environmental activists who say that the project would destroy the natural beauty of the city.
Giving his side of story in the case, former bureaurcrat Ruidad Khan says National Highway Authority (NHA) is concealing the facts about the project.
Commenting on the issue, chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry says NHA reveals tha project was not approved despite being discussed.
The KPK government told the court hat the provincial government didn’t know about the project.
