ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is likely to have 3G technology for mobile devices soon, the federal government tells the apex court this morning.
The government lawyer told the Supreme Court the process of 3G auctioning would be completed soon.
Hearing the 3G licence auctioning case‚ Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry observed that it was responsibility of the government to ensure a transparent auctioning of the technology.
During the case, the court was appraised about the appointment of three new members including technical and legal.
The country, with a 120 million mobiles including a large number of smartphones, has been awaiting for the technology for many years now with bureaucratically made obstacles have been hindering the launch.
The federal government is likely to get a hefty amount in hundreds of billions while giving boast to the technological advancement in the country.
