ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s PM Nawaz Sharif has ‘finally’ convinced Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)’s senior leader, Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi, for governorship of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, who earlier excused to take charge of the top of KPK, has been convinced by the Pakistan’s PM and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, sources said.
Nawaz Sharif made clear their concerns pertaining the post via informal meeting with the senior leader of the party, however, Abbasi accepted the PM’s proposal for the post, sources added.
It should be mentioned, the provincial government is being running under administration of PML-N’s political rivals, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), hence the country’s leading was searching an intellectual personality to be appointed as KPK’s governor.
Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan belongs to a Hindko speaking family of Hazara and Senior Vice President of Pakistan’s leading political party, PML-N.
Abbasi had performed his duties as former Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa from 1997 to 1999 and the Federal Railways’ Minister in 2008’s ex-PM Yousaf Raza Gillani cabinet.
