Struggling hard to earn credibility and space in the smart devices category, Nokia is rumoured to be working on a 10.1 inch tablet to compete with Apple’s iPad 5.
The competition’s area will be the price as the reported tablet, named as Sirius, will have the pricing equal to Apple’s tablet range.
The reports about the Windows empowered Nokia tablet have been there on tech forums and sites. But this time there are some picture of the tablet with Verizon logo.
“Some pictures of a red variant of the device have also appeared online with a Verizon logo,” iTechPost reports.
The pictures shows a red colour device with Nokia, Windows RT and Verizon logos on its back. However, the front site is not sightable in the picture.
The Verge quotes its sources that Nokia is planning the tablet with the title ‘Sirius’ with an aim to compete Apple’s next generation tablet. The tablet is likely to be released on Sep 26 in New York.
The report further tells “The upcoming Nokia Sirius will be thinner and lighter than the current iPad. However, speculations suggest that the next-generation iPad 5 will take design aspects from the iPad mini and will be thinner and lighter than the iPad 4.”
So it would definitely be worth watching to see whether Sirius is thinner and lighter or iPad 5.
Some other specs of the tablet include:
- 6 Megapixel rear facing and 2 megapixel front cameras
- 10.1 inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution
- Quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor from Qualcomm
- 2GB RAM
- 32 GB Storage capacity with microSD card
- LTE connectivity
- 10 hours battery usage time
- Likely rechargable keyboard accessory with tablet
