ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) likely to avoid participation in the federal government-led All Parties’ Conference (APC) as its vice chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim is not invited.
The PPP leadership expressed disappointment on the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)-led federal government’s attitude over non issuance of invitation for the party’s top leader Amin Fahim while leaders of other parties are welcomed.
Makhdoom Amin Fahim explained his stance, said that Khursheed Shah, the PPP belonged opposition leader in the National Assembly, has been invited in the APC instead of original party representative.
Fahim said, “Shah cannot represent his party in the APC as I’m the parliamentary leader of PPP in the assembly.”
He added, “I should be invited in APC as head of the party and as parliamentary leader of PPP”, “It is surprising that Pervaiz Rasheed is Information Minister but he don’t know the procedure.”
However, PPP is now reviewing its decision to participate in the upcoming APC on national security.
On the other side, Pakistan’s federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed released his stance on media, said that only parliamentary leaders will participate in the conference hence Khursheed Ahmed Shah has been invited in the APC.
Rasheed said that the federal government has avoided the traditional moves in the upcoming conference as only paper activities and non serious APCs were organised in past.
The information minister said that Amin Fahim’s concerns are baseless as Shaikh Rasheed and Ijaz ul Haq are also uninvited on having short ratio in the assembly.
