ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis likely to face significant rise in load shedding up to 2 to 3 hours as Qadirpur Power Plant has stopped working due to technical problems.
Pakistan Federal Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, on Saturday has announced for increase in load shedding duration due to the closure of Qadirpur Power Plant due to technical issues.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that electricity sector is currently facing shortfall of 450 Mega Watts resulted after closure of the power plant while it could be increased up to 700 MW in next 48 hours.
He said that load shedding duration would be increased up to 2 to 3 hours daily while the technical issues would be resolved till tomorrow’s evening.
It should be mentioned here, Pakistanis are already experiencing 8 hours load shedding daily even after paying conspicuously high prices fixed by the federal government.
