Itanagar: An Indian hostel warden has charged with raping 14 minor girls aged up to 4 to 13 years respectively in a private school of north-eastern state of Arunachal.
Sexual harassment with Indian women drew attention of international media and women rights’ circles as back-to-back incidents rocked many cities of the country including the federal capital New Delhi and the metropolis Mumbai.
Molestation of women is nothing new in Republic of India, yet its government focuses more on financing billions of dollars in strengthening its aggressive strategy on the borders.
According to local media, another incident 14 minor girls became the victim of rape incident in a private school in Likabai the district of West Siang. The hostel warden of the school has been alleged to be involved in the incident.
The matter came to light when a few students went to police and reported the matter. According to Indian Media, these girls reported the matter to the principal of the school but nothing was done despite being informed. Thus the girls opted to escape the hostel at night and immediately went to the police station.
Vipin Wisvan, a non-Arunachalee teacher also the hostel warden has been involved in shameful act for the last 3 years. The members of the civil society, residents and the students recorded their protests and demanded strict action against the alleged criminal of the incidents of raping 4 to 13 year old girls.
Police claim that the principal, Vipin Wisvan and two others have been arrested and investigation has been carried out. It has been also suspected that they have also been involved started to threaten the girls rather than exposing the warden.
