LAHORE: Pakistan’s T20 champions, Faisalabad Wolves’ participation in Indian T20 Champions Cricket League is on risk due to non issuance of visa, sources said.
Sources closer to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) claimed that Indian officials are not furnishing positive answer to them pertaining issuance of visa.
Faisalabad Wolves, the domestic T20 champions of Pakistan, has been scheduled for the upcoming event in India but their attendance is subjected with the Indian visa.
Indian authorities and related officials of cricket board have delayed provision of visa to Pakistan players due to ongoing tensions on Line of Control (LoC), sources added.
On the other hand, India said on Tuesday it would “consider all aspects” and take a call on providing visas to a Pakistani cricket team to participate in the Champions League Twenty20 tournament that starts next month.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said India has been approached for visas for the Pakistan T20 champions Faisalabad Wolves.
The 2013 edition of the CLT20 has four teams playing the qualifying round: Otago Volts (New Zealand), Sunrisers Hyderabad (India), winner of Sri Lankan domestic T20 meet and Faisalabad Wolves.
Each of the two qualifying teams will join the main groups after playing a qualifying tournament that starts on September 17.
