London: Search engine giant Google ready to make debut of second version its flagship device Google Nexus 7 on August 24.
The retailer in question is Ebuyer, which claims in a promotional email that it will deliver the new Nexus 7 tablet on Aug. 24. Previously, the same retailer claimed to have the slate available on Aug. 28.
Ebuyer in the email claims that, “Guaranteed delivery for Saturday 24th August,” as published by Eurodroid.
The “guaranteed delivery” proclamation for Aug. 24 is only mentioned in the email, while the retailer’s online store only mentions August.
“The New Google Asus Nexus 7 is available to pre-order. With stock arriving in August make sure you’re one of the first to get your hands on Google’s latest tablet,” notes Ebuyer on its pre-order page for the tablet.
While the refreshed ASUS-made Nexus 7 from Google is already available for purchase in the U.S. and will hit the shelves on July 30, consumers in the UK have had to be content with lining up for pre-orders for the tablet.
Several UK retailers such as Currys and PC World have the 16GB and 32GB Wi-Fi models of the new Nexus 7 listed on their respective online stores and the tablet is available for pre-order. However, the delivery date is listed as Sept. 13.
The retailer has the 16GB variant of the tablet priced at £199.98 ($305), whereas the 32GB version of the new Nexus 7 will set consumers back by £239.99 ($367).
While Ebuyer’s Aug. 24 launch assertion for the new Nexus 7 has not been confirmed by Google, chances that the reputable retailer will deceive consumers are slim.
Moreover, it is unlikely that the retailer will have an exclusive on the refreshed Nexus 7’s launch and, therefore, it seems that the tablet will make its much-awaited UK debut on Aug. 24.
To get the new Nexus 7, which comes pre-loaded with the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, head to Ebuyer’s pre-order page.
