LAHORE: Realising the importance of phrase ‘Education is the most powerful weapon a country must afford’, Punjab Government is working on the policy to upgrade education standard in the country.
Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that Rs. 244 billion to be invested in education sector that will comprise of 26% of Punjab budget.
“Under the Punjab Endowment Fund, more than 50,000 students are getting stipend,” he further said and added that promotion of modern and quality education was a must.
Shuja stated that the provincial government was working on a comprehensive plan to upgrade education sector particularly Higher Education Commission.
