FAISALABAD: With power crisis looming and peoples complaints get skyrocketing about power load shedding, the government has started crackdown on power theft.
As many as 470 cases have been registered against the power pilferers in the drive against power theft, says State Minister on Water and Power Abid Sher Ali.
Sher has been a member of national assembly from Faisalabad district, where the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz had made a clean sweep.
He made some positive indication regarding inducting few thousands MegaWatt of electricity in the national grid.
“Projects up to 5,000 to 8,000 MW will soon be inaugurated by the prime minister Nawaz Sharif,” he further said.
Concerning over growing discrepancies in the power agreements, Abid Sher said that government would be reviewing Independent Power Producers agreements.
