LAHORE: Anjum Pervez, newly appointed General Manager of Pakistan Railways by federal government, has announced significant decrement in passenger trains’ fares upto 5 to 30 percent.
Anjum Pervez announced the decrease in railways transport fairs after taking charge of his post and said that his step will increase in quantity of passengers and income.
While talking to media first time, Government Grade-21 officer said that fares of Jafar Express, bounded from Lahore to Rawalpindi, has been decreased immediately after the announcement while same law will be imposed in branch lines’ trains from the end of July.
Pervez claimed that Quetta Express, Karakoram Express, Karachi Express, Tezgam will be continued with better engine and best transportation facilities.
The officer said that he will try to continue each train without any delay while carriage trains will be increased within 6 months.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has appointed Anjum Pervez as Pakistan Railways new general manager operations.
