LAHORE: Facing a tough challenge to end power crisis in the country, Federal Power Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif find another way to achieve this target.
“The government has decided to increase tariff on power for industrial sector, while the domestic consumers will get cheap electricity,” the minister said in an interview.
Earlier, the government has increased power tariff on all of the consumers irrespective of being industrial or domestic nature.
“The energy crisis would be resolved in next three years and the government has initiated different coal plants and hydro electric projects to end load-shedding,” Radio Pakistan has quoted him as saying.
Before this, Khawaja Asif was reluctant in giving a time-frame to end the power load shedding.
However this time giving a time-frame of power crisis elimination, he was of the view that the government was committed to overcome energy crisis and to attract foreign investment.
PML-N had consistently made claims to end the electricity crisis after coming into power during its election campaign.
