ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue will auction 50,000 vehicles worth billions following the high court has termed amnesty scheme for smuggled vehicles illegal.
Islamabad High Court (IHC) declares that Amnesty Scheme for the smuggled vehicles is illegal. After the decision FBR has to auction 50,000 vehicles labelled as smuggled from.
The scheme has been launched to provide amnesty vehicles smuggled from abroad to bring revenue to national exchequer.
Islamabad High Court has declared the FBR smuggled vehicles amnesty scheme as illegal.
FBR was further asked to take the possession of fifty thousand such vehicles throughout the country and arrange to auction them.
According to officials, the FBR earned 16 billion rupees through this scheme.
